@ric: I'm sorry I didn't add the link. I think I got it from GameFront: www.gamefront.com/...okays_Towers_Q3

If that link doesn't go to the version with bot support, I will see if I can use DropBox since I kept the map file.

@FragTastic: I did manage to download a version of this map that has Bot support and an .arena file to let it show up in the menu

This map is actually very fun.

IMO the review needs to be updated.

@doodles: If you don't play against bots then who are you going to play the map with hmm??? There are NO servers online with this map and most people don't have friends who even play Q3 anymore...which is sad. So again, who are you going to play it with?

...
.....yeah. I thought so.

Jump on to the server mentioned below on a Saturday or Sunday and you'll get chance to play against the [ARC]Clan on this very map. Or perhaps you can re-review it against bots when you download the newer file which has a perfectly good working .aas file, the bots even jump across for the red armour and I've seen then make a rocket jump up to the mega health from the shotgun platform, pretty good for dumb bots.

I didn't have access to human players to test it with, otherwise my review probably would have been much more positive. A mix of gothic/base is just a pet peeve of mine :P

Before you dismiss this map, you need to check out the gameplay yourself! It's what made Q2DM2 the classic map that it is. With the improved physics that Quake3 offers, this map shines with human players. But hey! Thats just my oppinion. Zan.

While I appreciate the constructive criticism, I uploaded a newer file to LvL which has a working .AAS. The eclectic texturing was because i felt that the original was too samey and i figured that the creator(s) of these towers would have come from different timelines. Kinda like an old cathedral is built with different parts made in different era's. i.e. Norman tower, Saxon Nave, Roman Front...etc. I can appreciate no one liking the oddly shaped jump pads, but they are only jump pads thats all, lol. The z-fighting is in the rail tower behind the 2 shiny swords and its only there because thats the only place in the map that i didnt caulk behind. An updated version of this map is available here ---> www.ewilby.freeser...map-rzq2dm2.zip and it is played regularly on 80.252.64.4:27960 when the server is running.

Regards Zan.

There were three different remakes of Q2dm2 in the queue at one time. Lol.

It's really nice to see people appreciating id Software's older work and trying to convert it into newer games. Unfortunately, the map is exactly as the review says, so you probably won't want to download it except to see how much like the original level it looks.
