This map is very small and very fun! Playing this map with 4 bots on each team is a blast. The only thing I can complain about is that the bots on the teams don't seem to help capture the flag. All in all, a keeper.

This map is a very small CTF arena, also designed for the Proball mod. Stoneface Islands is a much bigger CTF map and also playable as FFA.
And yes, the stonefaces are inspired by Spongebob.

Wakey, I know this is not the place to say this, but will you ever make more maps like you did about Passing Uranus? That map was beast. Also the Stonefaces remind me of Squidward's home from Spongebob Squarepants. But what exactly is the difference from this map compared to Stoneface Islands???!!!

@sst13: When the water-mirror is enabled, it is 19-20 fps. When disabled, it is 29-30 fps.

@lol: Try to disable the water-mirror with "r_noportals 1" to increase your fps.

I extracted the ww_kat1024toon3.pk3 file in baseoa folder, When i start the OpenArena and type in console: /devmap kat1024toon3
The low frame rate occured the kat1024toon3 map, it is about 14-30 fps.

@lol: Most of your comments would be better if they where expanded a bit, if they included some more details and where a little more constructive. For example, 'who' is 'Wilko', is there a download link or website or just how the map was 're-modified'.
BTW, 're-modified' does not make any sense as 'modified' means to alter or change, so including 're-' as a prefix is pointless.

d'oh... i got the beta version of the map sry :S it wasn't compiled with cell shading >.<

@Anonymous: it wasnt :) or the cell shading was applied to weapon too... octopus, like q3dolphin, use shadowless and rubby textures ;)

The rendering style used is known as cell shading.

Map got compiled with another kind of texture rendering. I saw this once. My friend Cryo let me see one of his testing looking like this. Isn't a good rendering on patch meshes; you can see their lines... try to make an arch and his outer bevel. ;)
I know that's a funny looking rendering style but ithink i will never use it in a map with patch meshes ^^ an asteroid map (licterally asteroid"... that maybe a good idea of a map style where this rendering may look very well due the fact that on an asteroid: or you use highly detailed textures or you use the exact opposite: this rendering.

p.s. i have been searching high and low for the easter egg...
a little hint would be nice.
Searching a rocketjump high can be effective. ;)

This map really is looking unique! Only the bots seem to have some problems watching their steps. ;)

I just downloaded the Proball Mod yesterday, and it's a pretty cool mod, but it sux that the bots just stand still as far as making a goal... I figure that if the Q2 Basketball mod can get their bots too shoot baskets, they should be able to get their bots working. =/ Are they even working on that mod still? It's the day and age of bot support!

Thanks for the Reviews Wakey!
The trick is using the R_RemapShader function, that's already built in Q3. The original maps doesn't use this function, so it's not much popular.
A howto can be found here: pumpkin.game-serve...manual/apA.html
The map design was inspired by a demo called "Fall Equals Winter" by Replay.
The stoneface mapmodels are inspired from Squidwards Easter Island moai house. (Spongebob rulez!)
I've hidden also a little easter egg inside the map. :>

I finaly found out how he did it.
It's a realy neat trick within the shaderfile, wich is nowhere documented.
Imo a realy nice work like i already said :D

It's always nice to see things that haven't been done before for q3. Many different ways to change things...Nicely Done!

HOW YOU DO THIS JUST BY MAKING A MAP? LOOKS LIKE A MOD, EVEN THE ROCKETS AND EXPLOSIONTS ARE OUT OF A COMIC, EVERYTHING.
AMAZING
GONNA TRY THIS WITH OTHER MODS AND SEE WHAT COMES OUT :)
