With good use of the third dimension a lot more connectivity is possible between different areas in a map.
You have 3 rooms/areas in a straight line.
Place them in a triangle, set the floor in each are at a different height. Let them intersect at some points, connect with jumppads and stairs. These are just some ideas, not guidelines.
Looking forward to your next map ;)

well the third dimension is just that: adding a level of complexity to the whole thing. Makes everything more interesting, imho.

hi guys:)
just wanted to add a few words myself here. of course at 1rst thx to WesMan, u ve built up my mood m8:),... and full agreement its damn hard to get started in level design, especially cuz there are the mentioned >older< guys setting a very high level. but 4 me it is big fun to find out as much little tricks as i can. hey, hope to find ya maps somewhere soon:)
k, bout the review here...yes, i think it is quite fair. i noticed the most reviews here are...hmm... hard (i like that) and so i expected to get hit harder lol. only 2 things i dont really get are these: the red armour complain (i love its placement cuz its a bit dangerous to go for it as u have less place to avoid an attack there). and i m unsure what to think about the 3rd dimentionstuff yet. not sure if it it is a must to have many levels...maybe some1 wants to explain y all think that it is so much important.
ok, take care all:)

Hey Flipmode. Just wanted to say "great job" on your second release. I'm workin' on my second release right now, and believe me, starting out in level design is a tough nut to crack....Especially when you have the "older" guys in the scene tryin' to give you advice that you aren't quite ready for (as in techinical, etc)......I just played it, and wanted to say nice work....Because for a second, that is very nice...VERY nice. I'm impressed. Even if you get "eh, so-so" reviews from everyone else, just know that I'm enjoyin' the hell outta it...:). Peace. 8.5/10

Very fair review. It's quite simple, but for a second map, not at all bad. As PI says the 3rd dimension is what's lacking the most; there's just too few ways to get between levels. Bots are ok, though the map can get a bit laggy. 6/10.
