One of the better box-maps.
Very good gameplay for a square.
Well done!

The skybox gets a bit garrish in places (when facing the giant cheeseball mountain. Bots stay still on the upmost tier even when engaged making for easy frags. The pads make for an interesting game against humans and override the simplicity of the map.

Well, I found the bots damn challenging, so you must have taken a while over it.

What exactly does 'bot optimising' entail? Pretend I know nothing ( which is pretty much the case... )

Kell, it was a good review in my opinion - I pretty much agree with you on most things.

I have a personal preference for air control when it comes to jump pads - altho there is one corner jump pad that I missed tweaking that isn't that good !

As for FPS, man, you shoulda seen the map during beta testing - it was almost twice as bad - I had to dump a fair whack of eye-candy to get it to the level it's at.

I think my best achievement with this map was getting those pesky dumb-ass bots to participate in a frag session with some sort of skill - that took a long time to get right !

HeHe.

I think you probably deserve a nice car, but I'm not sure about a Ferrari ;)

The only way I held back in the review was becasue jump-pad dependant maps are not everyone's favorite, and the fps is worth mentioning.

But I really like the style, and the texturing is cool as f*.

Thanks for the comments !

It took a good 3 months to get reviewed but was worth the wait as the review is ok.

I was kinda hoping for :-

"This map is brilliant, sheer genius, id software, hire this guy now and give him a red ferrarri."

But I'll settle for "well worth taking a look at"

:)

M3A, now I remember this map...I thought it looked familiar.

Krekits is right...it is a box map...but a damn fun box map I thought! The texturing and brushwork are nice too.

Nice work, bushboy!

As in it is or it should be, polo? In one case I agree, in the other tell me which one!

An oldie. Played it when it was released, and had no fun with it. Looks are great though, but the game I didn't like much at all. Pretty much a box map if I remember correctly?

Played this one quite a while ago, it was great then and I'm sure it still is :-) The framerate hit is noticeable on a low-end system (such as mine) - but barely. That map is still more than playable and can be quite fun. It's nice looking, but not overdone, and the vertical layout makes for some great matches. Fun stuff, a well deserved 9 from me.
