There are so, so many Egyptian-themed maps that when this one came up we immediately figured it'd be another overwrought, overly aesthetically-textured, cliche-looking map. That's not the case.

Surprisingly, this map is fairly understated in details, and where it shines is in actually looking like an Egyptian tomb or catacomb. Large columns, bracketed staircases, and simple but interesting rooms and corridors give this map a significantly more "organic" feel than pretty much every other Egyptian-themed map I can remember. It really does look and feel like an attempt to capture what it might be like to run around a tomb.

Unfortunately, the layout suffers in many ways. The same interesting corridors and rooms lack any engineered gameplay, with clumsy intersections, dead ends, chokepoints, and poor item placement.

This isn't a bad map by any stretch...but it's one you'll probably appreciate looking and running through, and after a round or two, will put aside for quite awhile.

10/10 for style
5/10 for gameplay

Thank you, it really should be an egyptian atmosphere, with many small areas and an architecture whithout curves. But with any secrets...
