Described by the author as a small and fast map, I'd say that's not far from the truth.

Now let's dive a little deeper. It is small but not tight because of the open spaces; you can run around and go back to your starting point pretty quickly. If you take your time to look around, you'll notice that every section is pretty wide and open, good for moving around to grab items and dodge bullets and taking a quick run somewhere else to grab some health and armor and go back into the fight.

The map's layout makes it good for 1v1 matches, although I find it too loaded for such games; both players will be running around grabbing weapons, ammo and armor and then face each other and throw everything they've got at each other and see who stands out. Which is good, it's one way to play duel maps, maybe it's not the 'pro' way where you get a few weapons and very scarce items and make it a cat and mouse hunt kind of fight, but it can be fun.

FFA matches are not different; 4 players seems like the right load, and in the end it's all about finding the proper balance between the amount of players and their skills.

Weapons are Rocket Launcher, Lightning Gun, Shotgun and Plasma Gun, which are a good choice, but maybe a Rail Gun could have made things more interesting.

On the visual side it's mostly good, with a beautiful dynamic skybox by Cardigan, and a Sci-fi atmosphere thanks to a texture set by Sock modified by the map author, and textures from Star Wars Jedi Knight II, HFX, rDog, and Charon.

Bots seem to do well, the map comes with just Doom by default. Add two more and it becomes real fun.

Now that I talked about all the good things, it's time to talk about a few but very distinct not so good things.

There is a launchpad with missing textures, and another launchpad with the usual Gothic texture that has nothing to do with the Sci-fi textures in the whole map. Kind of a deal-breaker.

There is also a message that shows up on screen in some places, saying Common, fight - motherfucker that is annoying, of bad taste and literally breaks the whole combat thing that is the heart of Q3A.

In the end, it's not bad at all for a map built a little more than 22 years ago (15th June, 2002); it's got potential for good games depending on the players. Some people might find the Common... message annoying, those things should be left out of multiplayer games, to be used only on single player campaigns

Try it, maybe it's not a keeper but it could be fun for some time.
