The botfile needs to be updated, take a look at the bsp creation date & compare it to the botfile creation date, & you'll know what I mean. EDIT: The patches are on the review. Take whichever patch you think works the best & use that with the map.

tried this map "beneath" - looks nice. the included "beneath.txt" says botsupport included & good. i see the *beneath.aas" file within the "beneath.pk3". however, when i load this map with bots, i get the error message "AAS failed to initialized". no bots loaded.
am i missing something? suggestions?

No need for that wakey. I will take care of the botfile for you. EDIT: There already seems to be a botfile. I will check out the botplay, & if need be, update it's reachabilities.

Sorry that delivering the bot file takes a while longer, but unfortunately bspc dont likes the original bsp file.

I have done this for Passing Uranus too, the question is, if it will mess up the lightmap.

If this is the case, i will have to decompile the whole map to fix it up, PLUS do a seperate simplified bot map, which will take quite long.

I can do an update with botfile, the map was anyway intendet to have one (is still mentioned in the readme, if i remember it right).
Altough if you want it faster you can extract the .bsp from the .pk3 file and compile one yourself with bspc and... have fun! :D

Hi wakey, I do not mean to bash you in any way, but that line I'm quoting is precisely what EVERY mapper should avoid; the idea that because on their own system the map performs really well, it's fine. Actually, it leads mappers to not notice the kind of problems caused by bad construction, very basic stuff that can easily be avoided from day one. OK, I guess if you're not a professional mapper, this shouldn't bother you; but my take is that if I'm going to spend countless hours building this virtual arena to share with others, I'll have to keep in mind some details that will make the whole difference in the end.

Anyways, congratulations for trying new ideas and building maps that are different from the usual stuff.

My Tron map will be oriented on the old Movie, dont like that new Tron stuff :/
I hope i'm able to catch the look and atmossphere of this classic, will be quite hard...

Your CTF ideas are good, will help me quite a bit ^^

Also I don't mean to bash your tron idea, but M .Kupfer already made a map called Quatron based on that type of setting. But it looked like it was based on an older game of that movie/whatever, so you could still do that if you want. He did make the map-but did not submit it to ..::LvL, however. I don't really know why.

What I was thinking of was it would be CTF-Either A Star ship in space(or the sky and somewhere on that cruiser would be once of the flag rooms. The Planet (could be Earth) will have some grassland,trees, and a military base which would house the opposing flag room.
The Attackers in the ship have to beam down to a telepoter(s) far from the outpost in the rural area of the planet (but the Planet area of acess doesn't have to be huge) The way to get INTO the ship is you trek all the way to the teleport and beam up the ship.

The other Idea about your DOOM idea is have Phobos be home to the blue team, and it could be E1M9 To have this portal to the Phobos base E2M1(blue base). But instead of the portal being on the ground, make it more like the stargate portal meaning you go into this evil looking teleporter (you could have fun with this) And go through this warping phase and end up in the other base. Does this help out? I am still constructing my first map. Its going to be Nazi Zombies.

@SW12: Hmmm... i think you brought me two ideas :D
I could create two nice ctf maps with your idea.
Especialy a quake 2 style map would fit this Spacebase vs. Planet thing.
The other would be Doom (Mars vs.Hell).

A Quake one themed map would also be nice, but i dunno what opponents/setting i should bring in.
Obviously would be the other Dimension (the Demons world), but what would be the other side?
Maybe other dimension Demons vs. Hell Demons?
Any other ideas?

Currently i'm working on a puristic Tron styled map, i hope gameplay will work in this one, but i think most players will say it contains to much black xD

@wakey: Why don't you go back to space themes? I mean, I know you are submitting a different type of map for all kinds of enviroments, but I believe that "Passing Uranus" Map had good potential. Maybe you could make a map that has a space station/ship, and a planet you can attack. it could be CTF. If not, maybe I should try to get a map on here.
