Hey this map is visually stunning. The gameplay kind of feels a little in need of tweaking. As a previous map maker I know how hard it is to hear someone say that the flow needs a bit of a tweak to it, because it's not that easy to do... but I think this level would benefit from some trimming. I'm not sure if you were shooting for a 1v1, or a FFA, but it feels like it would be best for tourney style play. If that's the case, then perhaps it would be best to spread the most powerful items in the map a bit more, all you need to do is jump to the RA, fall down and grab the LG, then muster up the stairs a bit and fall down to the Mega. It's just way too easy to grab all of that and it makes the rest of the map feel unnecessary. However, your attention to detail is staggering. What I thought was just a model was a set of pipes with the 3 cylinders that was clipped off perfectly, reminded me of Doom 3 actually. All in all, if I were you, I would try to cut down about 25-30% of the level's actual size and try to make things a bit more tight. I would absolutely love to see this map on QLIVE for sure as is, but make those modifications then some top duelers might add this to the queue for sure.

Spread the RA and Mega more!

One of the best maps ever made. It has a nice symmetry too, everything flows nicely in this map. The Textures are pretty damn nice too and I've gotta say i love that water on the floor(micro details rule)

it's kinda ugly for my liking but believable and the attention to detail is great. it is well laid out with good item placement.

Nice, *really* nice. Great ideas that are executed perfectly.

Some of the detail architecture is made out of models or is trans (you can move through it) which makes for a much more enjoyable level - no getting snagged on uneven terrain. I liked that.

Some killer work here.

13 months in the making, and not surprising. There's a huge amount of detail here: every corner and crevice is filled with brush- or patch-work techy components. I think my personal favorites are the huge power cables trailed across the floor to the teleporters. With all the water accumulating on the lowest levels, I was wary of getting electrocuted if I went too near ;)

Aside from the obvious exemplary use of architecture and shaders, I think the lighting is really what makes the atmosphere; blue can be horribly overdone, but it isn't here. I did have to up my gamma a notch to navigate properly, but nothing problematic.

Re: Bots. I loaded up one of my custom bots, skill5, and was utterly tanked. He utilised the layout very well, and I even caught a glimpse of him leaping to the RA.

I wondered about the placing of the YA above the RL like that; it's only a short distance form the RA as it is. Still, this is what most tourneys want to be when they grow up.

If you want a map with looks as well as gameplay, if you want to know how great mapping is done...hell, if you own a copy of Q3A...stop reading my drivel and download this fucker!

p.s. - secret room is mondo bizarro, dude :)

Yay for owning a machine that can run this map nicely! It reminds me of one of Lunaran's...(the "doom" feel in blue). This map is much more vertical though, I love its sense of scale; while the map just below this in reviews has the comment "The map is so large in scale you sort of feel like you're trapped in a giants world," I think THIS is the map that deserves that comment. For instance the RL area has stairs going up, stairs going down, an atrium below, all kinds of things! Makes for great fighting too.

Bots are average or better. I couldn't find the secret room. I thought the water was a bit overdone, though it sure looks cool, and I really like the swinging-wire-thing underneath the RA.

The only thing I can find to criticise about this level is that it is a tad too dark (on my system anyway). Other than that, it is VERY impressive. Great gameplay, great layout, great looks, great botplay.
