We have seen many iterations of Unreal Tournament's most famous industrial complex, but this version feels like a deliberate "Greatest Hits" compilation. By blending the core architecture of DM-Deck16][ (1999) with the flow adjustments of DM-Deck17 (2004), the author has created a tuned Quake 3 experience.
The substitution of the Battle Suit for the classic Shield Belt and other Q3A centric adjustments make it clear which game you are playing. The BFG makes an appearance and is very easy to pick up - just exit a teleporter. The Red Armour on the other hand is a fight to obtain with a high player count. These item position issues may be related to the fact this is a beta release that has been all but abandoned by Neon_Knight. The level was originally included (as is) in the Map-Center's Quake 3 25th Anniversary Pack (2025).
The bots will pack out the main ramp area. Cutting back a bot or two allows for more flow and less madness, but the focus is still around the centre space and ramps.
Visually the level is very blocky, almost chunky in parts. The slime pool is more developed and visually interesting compared to the upper floors, showing promise of what could have been. Highly possible this is the beta status creeping back. There are a few missing textures as well.
We did not really need another Q3A version of Unreal's DM-Deck16][, but it is an enjoyable layout and we got one anyway.
Bonus: Neon_Knight has a put together a flyby video of the map.
