Small to medium sized tribute DM level. Eternal Arenas is based on several id Software levels spanning a number of releases. Sections from Doom 2's opening level and the great Q2 multi-player map The Edge are represented. I have to assume this is an initial effort as there are problems immediately after installation. The arena file seems to be correct (uses "genstart2") however the map does not load from the menu. I got it to load through the console. Overall, the level is very plain and has poor connectivity. Most areas are undersized so it's difficult to maneuver when you're under attack. The whole theme idea is interesting but a lack of the original texturing (except the Wolfenstein area) does not work well. R_speeds are fine so it's playable on all systems. Bots play OK and one even managed to get the BFG.

Unless you are interested in a nostalgic walk down id memory lane, I'd pass on this one.
