For a first time mapper using primarily two textures, the result is very good. The map is mostly one room, but there are pillars and contrasting elevation that provide cover.
There are several frame based jumps, so use pmove_fixed 1 (or set com_maxfps 125 if your machine has the power).
The texturing is clean but rigged by the blocky layout. The items are generally well distributed, but there are a couple clips next to their respective weapons, and the item runs are somewhat obvious; the openness of the map leaves little to surprise.
For a small first-time map, it looks and plays okay, but don't make too much out of it. You are better off helping him with his next level.
