******************************************************************************************* "Botulism" - For Quake III Arena (Team Deathmatch) by PE#668 =========================================================================================== Type: One Aganist Many (Team Deathmatch) =========================================================================================== Title: BOTULISM Filenames: Botulism.pk3, Botulism.txt Author: Public Enemy Number 668 (PE#668) Address: **email removed** Previous Levels: None (this is my first level) Intro ----- I have been interested in many areas of game design, skinning, modelling etc. And after downloading Q3Radiant I was quite impressed with the map tool. Sure it had some fatal bugs but it still offered huge potential. So I started playing with architecture and entities, and before too long had some interesting little traps and ideas for a new style of game play. Bot Revenge ----------- This map was designed for one reason only. To let you kill bots, lots and lots of bot frags. It could be played in FFA but it was meant to be played as Team DM. The new style of game play is this. You on one team versus as many bots as your computer can handle on the other team. Or if you like "One Against Many", (OAM). Sure it works as FFA but the game play idea was to have you killing the bots. And the level design is structured that way. You and the Bots spawn at different locations in the level. This means that you are given very unfair level design advantages, which balances the fact that there should be at least 5 bots against you. You should really have all bots set to Nightmare. Rooms ----- You always spawn at the main junction. From this location you can enter the various adjoining rooms to gain health, weapons and ammo. The tripple arches lead to the main arena and two bot traps (Bobbing for Bots & Gib Shaker). Final thoughts -------------- This is not a great DM experience. There are no awesome architectural delights, the flow is a bit disjointed with you having to back track down corridors. With so many other map makers out there making excellent maps. This map offers only some interesting tricks and traps. NOTE: Shoot the TV style portals, many features are activated this way. Play it safe, shoot everything. I would say that this map is worth the download. If for nothing else but the Gib Shaker and the shootable teleports.
