We've played a number of rounds on this map. I never fare well and I think I might finally understand why. I always try to play this like it's dm17 without the rail, and it just isn't. There's very little risk in heading out to the lightning gun, and at the same time, not the greatest benefit from having it.
There are maps you need to really learn how to play, and perhaps I just haven't "learned" this one yet.
Aesthetically it's absolutely fantastic looking.

Like q1dm17, and it's working.
Very nice translation of Q3 features to the Quake logic. Everything looks terrific and not forced at all, despite the fantastic setting.
Technically speaking, more than a space map this is a sea map, with the sea coming FULL OF QUAKE.
Nice touches: The light buoys, the cyclopean chains, the leaves... But they do not distract at all, something very hard to accomplish, and the map runs perfect.
I did not find any secret place yet, besides the LG trap (but with that buttons to activate I doubt the LG trap is a secret!)
With the Q2 railgun veto in mind, the only thing I miss is the plasma gun... and maybe some "ancient one" rising from the ocean from time to time.
Great map!
