I agree with SW12. The public servers don't always feature custom maps. For instance, SHIBAM, the best map I've seen in a long time, was released a month or 2 ago. I've been looking for a server that is hosting it, but haven't found one yet. Luckily, it DOES have bot support; so I have been able to enjoy the map.

Missing out on what? Running around in the map alone? Because you have to remember-most of us don't have friends to play with when playing Quake 3. Seeing how everyone I know doesn't even play this game.
