Let me guess, The "cruel trick" is the BFG & ammunition lined up over a false bounce pad which actually kills you. And the way Pure Imaginary said " beat the "trick." I thought it was a boss enemy. At least the maze is fun.

As the author's name states, this map is 'hopeless.'

Comic - I think that's something with ATI cards (and the latest patch) because I get it on my ATI computer but not others (running the same version). Just a guess though.

h0peless: Your readme.txt talks about thin lines outlining the skybox. This seems to have started with one of the recent Point Releases. As far as I know, all maps using skyboxes now have this problem. I think that if you make a new install of Q3 and don't add any Point Releases, you won't see the lines. I hope Id Software can come up with a Point Release that cures the problem. Meanwhile, night skyboxes don't show the problem as much.

That would be "...a 7 just for originality...". Oops :). Oh yeah, I counted four cruel tricks, possibly five (depending on whether item placement was a trick or just badly judged! :D )

LOL! That said, I only had a quick run around as the level looks to be pretty much unplayable. Item placement is somewhat dubious with RA, quad and haste all in the same room (unless this is another cruel trick on the poor sods who didn't get there first :p). Once you have worked out the 'trick' then the bfg is also only a few seconds away should the aforementioned powerups not be enough to kill everyone in the world! This is a pretty funny map tho' and I would like to see some more maps from this author as he clearly has some creative talent. I'm not going to score it (as I haven't played it) but I imagine I would give it a 7 for originality. It's worth a download even if you don't keep it. :)
