A 2013 release from OXOTHuK, known for porting existing maps from other games to Quake 3, finally makes its way here.

de_train is a faithful copy of the Counter-Strike map Train (de_train). Originally made by Barking Dog Studios based in Gastown, Vancouver - close to a large train station. The Counter-Strike version was released as part of Beta 5 (23rd Dec, 1999). Many changes and editions have been released since then for the Counter-Strike series of games.

This Quake 3 release can be played in Tourney, Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch modes, all of which are very different to the Bomb Defusal mode of Counter-Strike. This is where the game play shifts and is heavily affected. You will find only parts of the map are used. The corridors between the two train yards help to break things up a little, with the majority of the action ending up in Trainyard A.

Bots will move to the action and seem to miss some of the power-ups.

Would have been nice to see changes that suited Quake 3 game play. The faithful reproduction is the shortcoming of this release.
