Im having problems with the map. :( everytime I try to run it abot 20 seconds in I get an error msg. "Q3 has caused an error in Q3 and will now close"

I never have any problems with any other custom maps just that one. The player models work fine and are funny as hell...LMAO...but i havent been able to explore the level much. I tried downloading from a different mirror in case the one I got was corrupt and still the same thing happens. Dunno, maybe something incompatible with point v1.29? Any ideas?

I've been playing it for the last couple of months, still a great map. I guess most peeps complain when it comes to horizontal maps, they assume that only the vertical maps are the good ones. .. spoiled brats. :)

Coolest map I've seen right up there with Padcenter! Only disapointed was the lack of shiny chrome on da low rider(and no bounce for the ounce.) The jeep(Hummer?) in a dark corner of a garage of Pad center had shiny chrome even!

How is this map rated so low? Don't believe the non-hype. This is a great looking map. Original models, awesome textures, atmosphere, music, playability. What more could you want? 9 all the way.

This is probably the best city map I've seen. (also check out M.K.'s Quatrix map).

All the city maps ive downloaded i have kept. Metro, Gotham, Alleyq3, Drastic City. They are cool. Just something i like about them. I heard there is rap (crap) music in this map. If it totally ruins the game, ill rip some Metallica or Pantera off my CDs and add it to the map.

The level is weak lets face it. It would have been nice to get into the buildings a little deeper or on the roofs. The models are nice but the gameplay / flow could have been much better. Can you say ...underdone? Good hype for Dre but thats about all.

I'll repost this comment, since it was removed once before....

I think everyone expects all maps to be strategy style these days. This level is a good old fashioned Doom'esque fragfest. Jump in and kill kill kill.

Not every map made has to be vertical. Not every map made has to be strategic. This is simply a fast and furious map.

I don't think there's too many powerups. There are enough for everyone, which heightens the frenetic action.

I wonder how many people that downloaded and commented on this map actually sat and played it for more than 3 minutes. I bet hardly any, only because they got in and saw it was flat city streets and immediately said "this sucks, there's no vertical" and deleted it.

The "hate" factor may be related to the fact that some people just don't like rap. Hell, I hate rap, but that won't stop me from playing this level.

Uh... what? Personally, I don't "hate" the map, I couldn't care less whether the music was rap or country or nonexistent, I'm not "missing the point" about its gameplay, and I think that Pete did an outstanding job meeting the specific purpose for this map as he described it below: "something simple and not too complex (something for the newbie crowed) that featured Eminem and Dr.Dre".

But I don't see it as my job to rate the map as to how good it is at being an advertisement for Eminem. Rating it strictly as a Q3 map, no other considerations: it's got nice looks and below-average gameplay. So I gave it an "average map" overall score, or 5. Yes, that's just my opinion on the gameplay, but my opinion is the only one I have to give.

All y'all that are bending over backward to attribute ulterior motives to anyone who isn't totally thrilled with this map, you need to just settle and accept that we have our reasons.

7 powerups? The item placement is shit. Very nice looking level, but since I won't be playing a level spammed with items/weapons/health/powerups I give it a big fat 0/10 for being a turd. -- With the UWF mod, this map is extremely challenging/fun/fast pace for the “seasoned player”. It’s a must have map for any “Dirty Harry” or “Rambo” in this Q3 world.

-- “Go ahead, Make your day!” with 10-12 bots (Eminem, Dr.Dre and all of ID employee bots) at nightmare skills. Try to see if you could take back the control of your city block from those gangs and thugs.

-- Words for newbie: You are in the chaos/riots of gang fights in LA/NewYork/Detroit. It would be wise to add a “Team” mode to the Chronic.arena file. You’ll need couple bots on your team to make it out of the neighbor hood alive. Drops you team bots as you’re getting with the Chronic map in UWF mod.

-- Chronic is a KILLER map, fresh look, chaotic, fast pace, fun music that doesn’t distract you, fun play, fun bots, new models, and very well done realistic theme. It’s a must have and I give it a BIG 10/10

-- Thank You Master Plan for a wonderful map and I’m looking forward to your next creation.

PS: I don’t ever like advertising but rich man like George Lucas or Steven S. they still do it in their movies. The ad in this map is tastefully well done and it makes the map more realistic. We are living in America and the artist needs to make a living too.

Without any bots or people in it, the framerate dropped from 80-90 to 4-5 in a coupla places because of texture swapping... 32M of video RAM should be enough to run any map with high texture detail. Otherwise, why even include high-quality textures with the map?

I dig the custom models and functional traffic lights and stuff tho... Too bad it's basically a flat box map. I'd like to see this kind of theme in a more varied and properly vis-blocked map...

I think there are too many haste - powerups, the buildings are blocky, too few of them are accessible - and the performance is too bad for what u see. It´s a nice idea, however - I´ll give it 4 points.

The rapper models are funny. The map itself is flat and boring. If you like advertising then this is the map for you!

Some people are trying to use Q3A for marketingshit. But this map is well done, bots do rather well -and there are two new unique bots included into the pk3. Maybe it's just me, but it brings fun to frag rappers.

This download contains childish (but funny) music, too.

'Cause of the bots, cause of the fresh look and the acceptable gameplay, I made the decision, to give eight points instead of zero.
