You could release a beta (if you have not finished yet) on the Quake 3 World forum - quake3world.com/forum/viewforum.php
There is a good chance you will get a lot more feedback once people can play the mod.
Anyway, I'm just wanna know the opinions around here too.
I actually have laggy problems with that, and I need to know, I should try to solve it, or not (this map worth it?).
From the screenshots I would have guess you had lag or frame rate issues. Fog + lots of details + open space = low frame rate for the id Tech 3 engine. You may need to change one or two of those things to fix the problem - or release "as is" and live with the fact that you map looks great can not be enjoyed :[
The engine usually picks 2 if it detects compiled vertex array extensions while set at 0, but since modern video hardware has deprecated that extension in some ways (i.e. compatibility profiles), most of the world haven't been playing Q3 as fast as they should have, often finding themselves with crap advice instead (like "use vertexlight it faster", which used to be only true if you had a Voodoo1/Banshee or some onboard chip)
