New map(s) Shipyard 17

Hello!
Let me please introduce my new maps (just screenshots and some info for now):
Here is my new map where you can messing around on a shipyard (or a part of the shipyard)!
Based on q3dm17 layout.

The package contains:

  • 2 maps (one for Team Arena, and one for EntityPlus mod)
  • A new douchebag bot (The Swat, local superdude)
  • A weapon replacement package (separated package, optional to use)

Looks impressive. Would need to play the mod before I'll comment on much else.

You could release a beta (if you have not finished yet) on the Quake 3 World forum - quake3world.com/forum/viewforum.php

There is a good chance you will get a lot more feedback once people can play the mod.

Anyway, I'm just wanna know the opinions around here too.
I actually have laggy problems with that, and I need to know, I should try to solve it, or not (this map worth it?).

Nope, thats me. To be honest, I thought you might have been someone else :]

From the screenshots I would have guess you had lag or frame rate issues. Fog + lots of details + open space = low frame rate for the id Tech 3 engine. You may need to change one or two of those things to fix the problem - or release "as is" and live with the fact that you map looks great can not be enjoyed :[

How's the performance with /r_primitives 2?

The engine usually picks 2 if it detects compiled vertex array extensions while set at 0, but since modern video hardware has deprecated that extension in some ways (i.e. compatibility profiles), most of the world haven't been playing Q3 as fast as they should have, often finding themselves with crap advice instead (like "use vertexlight it faster", which used to be only true if you had a Voodoo1/Banshee or some onboard chip)

I don't know. I didn't meet any lagg on my pc (plus I have enabled r_swapmapinterval too). Other people met lagg (low fps number).
Now I'm trying to fix it. I have an idea with more (ASE) models and _skybox, hope it will works.
Damn I'm a little bit upset...
