Tandoori Despair

02/16/2001 ================================================================ Title : Tandoori Despair Filename : pjw3quickie1.pk3 Author : Pat "pjw" Williams Description : Q3 tourney/FFA level ================================================================ Note: This map is the first in, hopefully, a series of "quickie" maps. The "quickie" designation means that it was made in one sitting at Q3Radient--from sitting down with no idea whatsoever in mind, through various changes, tweaking play, making a bot file, and making the final pk3. This one took about eight hours (which would have been much less if I hadn't spent SO much time arguing with Q3Rs screwed up cap function--grrrr). (I also spent a few hours the next day doing some modifications, per the great feedback at the Quake3World editing forum.) * Play Information * - Make sure you have the Quake III: Arena point release installed. For more information, visit http://www.quake3arena.com/ - Unzip the contents of pjw3quickie1.zip to your Quake3\baseq3 folder * Description * Game type : Tourney/FFA Player load : 2-4+ (although 4+ is a bit crazed) (also note that the map plays very differently if going from two to three players) Respawn spots : 4 Weapon load : LG, SG, GL Item load : 12 shards, 4 +5s, 4 +25s, megahealth, RA, two of each ammo, one BFG that spawns in place of the megahealth 5% of the time, just for laughs. Enjoy and thank you. -pjw WHY HAPPY HOUR IS SO IMPORTANT A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo, and when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular attrition of the weakest members. In much the same way the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.
