DEMIC Information:
DEMIC was written during the pandemic for myself and a good friend
Tony Domagala (Sonic) as a blast from the past as we had played
into late nights in the 90's. Fast forward many years later we still
play, so I wanted to design a pandemic level, after all what else
do we have to do other than expose this political game impacting our
lives for what it is?
Times sure have been hard, I wanted to design something that lended
itself to vintage deathmatch, over modems like it used to be, like
we used to play it, but adding some additional strategic functions
adding a different view to a classic game that really never used
these functions fully, now you can with DEMIC. You may not find
waterfalls and pretty ocean views in DEMIC, what you will find is
at the core, a strategic spectrum of different experiences I hope.
The level uses many shooters, cameras that bring the player more
into the game by using these advantages, you can view a player
in another area and trip booby traps on them, for instance fire
rockets or drop bombs on an area. This is achieved through the
use of various control rooms in the game. In DEMIC, you can ambush
players just by viewing them on camera and shooting at targets
in the control room. You can fight your enemy at the guidestones
in georgia, the game has a hint of conspiracy and a ton of
secrets.
Visit the crushomatic, where shooting the right area in the
room (hint:skulls) let's you raise very quickly a crusher
in the center that holds the BFG, crushing the opponent or
visit the classic doom area for a taste of the past. The level is
truly unique in it's booby trap secrets.
Be sure to shoot around at everything in the game to figure
out the secrets. This level was designed to reflect elements of
classic DOOM while also elements of QUAKE 3 but taking it to a
different persepective allowing the player, particularly in
deathmatch play to monitor and booby trap the opponent. It was
much fun to design, to go back many years and hopefully make a
level you enjoy.
It is what it is, I am currently working on DEMIC 2, sure it
could be trimmed up a bit, but it works very well in deathmatch
and with bots so I do not want to disturb it's fun and function
and I hope you enjoy it as well as much as I enjoyed designing it
and trying to make a level that was different in the way
opponents can interact with each other using the shooters which
has never been seen at this level in a quake 3 level.
The level has many flashbacks to the bulletin board days and
I hope the veteran players will appreciate it. Thanks for
trying it out!

Tony Sonic for months of testing the level and the booby traps.
The level was designed using opponent booby trapping in mind.
Thanks to Tony Sonic for testing them and the Artificial
