This is a nice-looking, medium-sized, Gothic-style ffa map that boasts dynamic lighting, shiny water, and some shadow casting (which, even if it's a piece of trickery, looks superb). The playability is quite good. Bots get around with a reasonable degree of competence and the locus of the action can rapidly shift from one place to another. Even when you get fragged, you'll be back in the action in no time after you respawn.

On the other hand, there are some issues. Some parts are under-lit. I thought that the location or direction of the TP landing spots was a little questionable. The JP in the corridor that leads to the Quad is awkwardly placed, even with the expansion of the corridor either side of it. There are also some dubious texturing choices in places because the custom textures in the map don't always fit well with id ones (though check out the upper part of the PG/quad room where they do). Things can get a bit snarled up in the RA/RG room at times because of the lack of viable space around the entry and exit points. And Visor's name is misspelt in the .arena file.

However, it has to be said that the excellencies of the map well outweigh the shortcomings.

Worth perusing. And keep an eye out for future releases from dONKEY.
