This map is an absolute work of art. The coloring, the strangeness of the environments, the creative use of jumppads with obstacles which shift your trajectory...there's a LOT here to love. I am brokenhearted that I don't see other maps by Kommissar.

I agree with Mark about the map being challenging. There are way too many curves and platforms which you may have to rocket jump your through which I absolutely love. I love challenging maps like this more maps should be made like this. DeFrag maps are not the only maps that are challenging, DM maps can be challenging too and you have proved it. 8/10

It's gifted community-driven content like this that keeps Q3 alive. Of course, I'll NEVER EVER see a map this original on a public server (unless it's an Alliance server), so the joy is bittersweet, but whatchagonnado?
Big ups to the Alliance crew; I didn't know about the Blizzard job, Komm, CONGRATS! Did someone mention an upcoming Alliance expansion map pack?????
Whom do I have to kill to get it? Just give me a name, I'll handle the rest. Hell, just give me the initials (are you Sarah Connor?)

The dudes at Blizzard liked the City of Brass, another actf map, that was the one that got me the job. :)

I always thought that map was awesome.
I would be willing to bet a good amount that this is the map that lander Komissar the job at blizz. :)

The maps from alliance default to /baseq so that you can play them on non-alliance servers also =)

By the way-
This map is more a piece of art than anything I've seen yet.
I cried, I laughed, I fragged.

Nice. Very interesting use of colour and space. I'd like to see more textural expreimentation in maps.

Fun house! I like the way blood contrasts with the lime green. Yummy!

Man, Kommi would be proud. Its so nice to see people doing non-satanic maps and this one is by far the epitome of original!! It would be too cool if Kommissar would whip out a map or two for the upcoming Alliance expansion map pack ;-)

I'm guessing they default to /baseq3 so that you can play them in regular Q3A CTF (in which case, you don't have the off-hand grapple, but the Q3 grapple is enabled in its place).

There was a small discussion about the release of this level on LvL as it was not submitted by Kommissar. I emailed Kommissar and got the ok from him.
I'm guessing there could be some conflicts which I did not notice as I have all my Alliance PK3's in my /alliance folder (they default to /baseq3, why?).

Yeah... both this pk3 and the Alliance pk3 use "curved.shader". The one in this pk3 is a file that is both older and larger than the one in the Alliance pk3, so I guess it has some differences and you are seeing those.
An unfortunate shader name clash.
I'm kinda wondering why this version of Curved Space was submitted to LvL, and why now.
Nevertheless it's a cool map, as is anything by Kommissar.

ACTF04 is my favorite Alliance map, so this was cool to see! A lot of interesting stuff going on with this map. However, has anyone else noticed some of the textures seem really washed out (especially in the courtyard at the enterence to the blue base), like the lighting in places is EXTREMELY overbright? Having this map in baseq3 causes the same thing in ACTF04. If you have the Alliance mod, look around ACTF04 with and without CURVED.PK3 in your baseq3.

This isn´t cartoonish or picmip-like, it´s more like "Bauhaus meets 70´s" :)
Very cool large CTF map.

Ack. Dammit well I'm very open to new ideas but this one just hurts my head when I look at it. It looks like the "r_drawflat 1" command has been turned on (Q1) and makes all the brushes different colors. It might be a very good map but it I just couldn't force myself to download it...
