Hmm... I always wonder what must be going on in a mapper's head, building blood splattered maps for many weeks. Design and texturing are well executed, theme is simply disgusting, IMO.

Great-looking map. The bot play, particularly Ranger, is a bit off. He would run right up to me but not attack; even with no ammo and Ranger packing the rocket launcher I was able to chase him down and gauntlet-frag him. Ranger ended up with zero frags, not surprisingly. Cadaver and Crash were their usual selves, more or less. Beautifully designed and executed level, would be my favorite of the "meat" series if not for the bot play.

Holy Crap....This map friggin' rulez. The blood streams on the bottom floor are totally awesome. It took me a while ( ...like 2 1/2 hours of rocket launchin' mayhem. LOL), but I finally figured out how to get that G.D.Quad. Pretty tricky. I like. :)

I would have said the level is too hard to dominate if anything, if you are speaking of 1vs1 (if you are considering the playability of competent humans rather than the alawys stupid bots). If you are talking about FFA, then domination is not such a bad thing for a gametype that is usually bogged down in too much player parity.

It does not have great gameplay, but is pretty good and is a far cry from what you see in Meat's old maps.

Next time leave your name; comments don't stand well without a name and a reputation to back them up.

Another fine map by Meat! 9/10

It took me about 10 minutes to finally discovered the trick to getting the quad. All I have to say is, shoot everything and listen carefully! :)

first I have to say I have the same things happen at my machine with that loop of localhost lagging - or what ever it is.

second that map is so very very nice in textures I can't belive it. The athmosphere through the map is unique in the q3world, and that map successfully continues the well work by pete.

Congratulation mister!

Thanks for the great feedback guys. Hopefully my next map will have better gameplay and item placement. I should tested the gameplay on this map a little more, but I just didn't have the time.

I have a couple other maps in the works (with completely new textures and shaders). But I got sidetracked building some character models and skins. I might have some new stuff in the next couple of weeks. If anything I will just update my site with more textures.

Thanks again, and like always any feedback is greatly appreciated : )

It's just lovely. I've had quite a few great LAN games on this one. Atmosphere is definitely a 10. You tend to get stuck in a few places, and there are a few rooms that feel a bit too narrow and tight, but the gameplay is still very good. If anyone wants to know how to get the quad, check this thread:

www.burial-grounds...TML/000498.html

you can download a demo that shows how to do it.

Totally rulez, impressive arena, with a complete new atmosphere never seen before [ok, flame me for that]. Probably a tad more verticality would have fit my style more, but well that's just a flavor thing.

Ya, really fantastic map as far as texturing and aeshtetics are concernened. I guess its good to be a texture artist as well as a mapper - you can make anything to fit your needs. Looks fantastic, great map for ffa (and yes i found the secret to getting the quad! w00t! And no, im not telling you :P) had an awful lot of fun playing it. Gave it a 10 - a map this good is rare. Maybe not a 'great' map in terms of gameplay - this one wont be included in the next osp pack - but the fun factor was incredible, really had fun on this one.

It's annoying when the bots know how to do something you don't, isn't it PI? (At any rate I've seen them get the quad; I think it has something to do with the brown indoor hallway upstairs and the light inside the pipe near the PG, but who knows. They never get back out anyways). Could someone post the solution?

The map has a very nice, almost disgusting theme. Pete really has done well here, though the "floating water" mentioned in the beta thread has not been completely fixed if you look at the pipes while crouching. The crushing chamber is a small gimmick that can be nice. Some rooms are used only for travelling through (and the items therein are thus ignored), but flow is mostly good. 9/10

this level along with mrcq3dm5 has me stumped. They are the only levels that seem to chug my machine occasionally. The framrate is very smooth for about 30 seconds then I'll get massive slowdown for about 5 seconds and then everyhting will be fine again. this continues in a loop and although it's not putting me off thiese levels, it's rather annoying? Could anyone shed some light on this? Is it some feature (maping wise) that these levels feature in common? My system is a p3-733 with 384MB ram and a 64 MB gf2 ti200. Levels with much more shaders and higher r_speeds work perfectly fine.
