I remember watching my dad play this map online when I was very young. For whatever reason I thought it was one of the maps created by the developers of Q3 instead of a user-made one lol

Even after 10+ years this is still one of my favourite FFA maps. The layout is incredibly awesome, it's plain and simple and fits the industrial atmosphere! Too bad this map can't be found on many servers. 10/10

I've been playing this map with friends off and on for over 10 years now, and it never has gotten old. I currently play on a friend's server, and the two of us with four bots on hardcore makes for excellent fun! This level is one of those that will stand the Quake test of time. Stecki, if you're still out there and reading this, 10/10 for a job well done!

Brilliant but feels unfinished compared to newer releases: ammo mostly next to matching gun instead of dispersed throughout map, lack of item markers / texture variety... I'd really like to see some kind of modern remix for this map.

SLowtreme, the guy does have a job. Don't know who for though.

If you think this map is good you should check out his models. He does all the cars for the Quake Rally mod! www.quakerally.com

But a level shot is supposed to give you some idea of what the level looks like, and it don't look like Johnny Rotten (thank goodness). So I stand by my comment ...

It's not a stupid level shot - "FFF" stands for "Farewell my Fair-weather Friend", which is a Public Image song from the album "Album". Hence the level shot of John Lydon ( Johnny Rotten ), since he sang on it! More from the RRROOOAAARRR "Pointless but True" desk as we get it...

This has to be one of the all-time great maps. It has everything: great gameplay, real atmosphere, excellent connectivity and vertical play, and a really distinctive feel to it. Only very small criticisms: a few poor-looking textures (e.g. on stair risers) and a stupid level shot.

I have to give this 10 (which I haven't done before on Lvl).

I remember playing an early version of this against stecki and some others...I thought it was great back then, and I still agree now, especially with the improvements to the scenery. One of my favorite maps of all-time...stecki should be proud of this masterpiece.

Oh yes... I've been missing a cool new Industrial-type level for a while now, and this will do just fine. With 5 bots it's serious fun, and I didn't have a problem with the scale ( but then I love monolithic levels that dwarf you... ) or the connectivity. Looks great, sounds great, plays great. This will be staying on my hard drive for a long time to come! Nice to see a modernistic map that still has that nihilistic, apocalyptic feel to it - eye candy to go.

The RRROOOAAARRR verdict is in: 10/10

i agree... although the map is very enjoyable and dressed oh-so-nicely with shaders and architecture, the scale is all wrong. While PLI (stecki, q1) was very tight this is au contraire!

i would have to agree with hubster, this is an excelent map with great item placement, but the scale is too big (long dull hallways) which slow it down a lot.

This is one of the very few levels I have played, which really made me feel like I was playing in an arena designed for death:-)

The spherical objects are a very nice touch, which dont overpower the map (I found).

Most importantly, the layout is superb. Very different, with a very high level of interconnecivity.

I have only ONE gripe.

Scale - seems a bit large, makes duels sometimes slow as you are spending more than half your commuting from one area to another.

I would LOVE to see a revision of this level with some attention paid to the scaling.

Otherwise, a fantastic level. Stecki, revamp this level man - it belongs in CPM:-)

Well done!

Lovely, lovely, lovely map.

Carries a similar circular theme to the wonderful stecki Q1 classic "peace and Love Incoporated" and has looks to boot.

Very atmospheric, with a great eye to detail and texturing which is suitably selected for the venue. Architecture is interesting and functional.

Great connectivity with a multitude of ways to get around the map in seconds via rj's, trick jumps, combinations etc. I dig the fact that thought went into where and where not to use clips to enhance game play. The jump-pad assisted rj to the red armour from below the rl is such a buzz :)

Plays so well with 3-4 it's a revelation.

A wonderful map - thanks stecki.

Way cool!

This map is staying put on my HD. Those shaders are awesome!

Well done in every aspect of map making.

The little detour to get the 100Health is richly detailed.

I strive for making maps that are this much fun.

Great map. Atmospheric, so lacking in most maps...(...damn I'm tired of more space bases or factories...). Great gothic feel and vertical game play. Better than most id maps. Can't wait for your next map man.

hrmmm...a bit laggy in parts, but an incredibly beautiful level. GAmeplay was o.k. for 1vs1...ffa would probably be better but i don't play that way usually. How come id didn't make anything this pretty? Large open areas lagged my puter..a p3800 with ddr geforce...and since no one has mentioned this yet, i guess i will. Good job, but not my favorite for gameplay. For that try the simple yet deep "cpm8" by our revered Jude.

Awesome architecture, spine-tingling atmosphere - I haven't felt like this on a map since my Q2SP days. And fragging that leaves my spine telling me it had every right to tingle. One of the best yet. Well done, Stecki!

This map is outstanding. Great (if understated) looks, great gameplay, nice layout and flow, and reasonable r_speeds. It's the newest addition to my KickAss maps list (at www.xtgl.com/pjw/maps.html --toward the bottom of the page).

Very, very fun map.

Very nice, someone give this guy a job! I want to play some of his Pro stuff.

Only one complaint about the map: Coronas looked awesome, very nice, but stecki should have made them all sprites, so that they could be viewed from all directions. That or shold have placed the Corona brush in all 3 axis.

I have not had this much fun on a map in a long long time.

I still cannot make up my mind if the gameplay is just as good, or better than Q2's The Edge in gameplay.

Anyhow......I had a great time on this map :-)
