thanx :)...
you are right about the testing... after serveral long weeks of mapping one never really gets around to doing all the multiplayer testing... i did do some with friends... but nothing like an all out LAN test :)

Funny that this map reminds you folks of Buck Rogers and the like.
Personally i would love to see more maps with such a SF feel to it. Like Captain Future or cartoons of that sort. Even though the design may not really sever a purpose, it looks cool.
About the textures... you are right, it's a knee jerk nag with me, to be lazy when it comes to picking textures. The original Brasilia architecture is concrete walls all the way, so i felt it would be ok to go for the low texture count design ;)

Yeah, architecture reminds me of Buck Rogers and some of Star Trek (the original series). Engage!
True about the internal lava being covered up but of the games I played on this one we where trying to knocked each other into the lava with rockets.
Battle Star Galactica, Buck Rogers and the 60-70's version Star Trek is what I see when I look at the architecture. A quick search on google for Brasilia may heap to educate me however :]

>The architecture and environment is reminiscent of a B-Grade Sci-Fi film,
>maybe its the repetitive use of simple shapes.
actually these are design elements of the architecture found in Brazil
capital Brasilia. B-Grade Sci-Fi is pretty way off ;)
>A lot of the action is horizontal and mostly taken up with staying out of
>the lava.
not really... all the "internal" lava is covered up... so you mainly you fall
out... and again this is a matter of skill :)
personally i would recommend the download just for the look see feel of it.
it's a style never seen before and therefore... naturally this pushed the
r_speeds pretty hard are that high... by the way most team arena maps have
higher r_speeds than this map (in case this means anything to gamers).
i bet the map will run really well once we have doom3 specific hardware ;))
