So I've had a few issues whilst playing VQ3 online. I seem to have ping around 250+ every time I enter a game with 8-10+ members. I've been told to use the following commands to fix the lag whilst playing online..

/ rate 25000
/ snaps 40

I've tried these commands of course and it stops lag for around 3-4 minutes but is there any other way I can stop lag for a long time or maybe even permanently?

Does that happen to you only on certain maps? Maybe try to make a backup of your cfg then delete the q3config.cfg and yours. The q3config.cfg is generated automaticly while u start quake...

@MBT: It's not on Maps, it's just on the server's I join. It mostly happens to all the ones I join really.
