I agree; this is a really fun map with some gorgeous architecture. A little bit more vertical action certainly wouldn't hurt, though.

Very well achieved gothic atmoshpere. The pits are a cool feature. Perhaps an extra floor in some places would give them map a further boost in terms of gameplay. Still, it is quite addictive to play!

It resembles me the map "Overkill!" by Wiebo de Wit.

The arches in this map are real gothic-style arches and not romanesque-style arches as in the most gothic maps.
Very atmospheric map. And playable!

Bug: There is a light texture missing in this map when playing vQ3, would someone please upload a fixed pk3?

Another visually very stunning map. And surprisingly, the gameflow is actually great, something less than trivial to achieve in these reality-based maps. Looks good, and plays well.

A by-the-numbers gothic castle map. Bad layout and poor bot play.

Well I love the new version...still looks great, and Jug listened to my (and plenty of other people's) suggestion about weapon placement. The RL is now out on the ledge but it's worth the trip. Missing texe is fixed too. Another nice change is the flattening of the area around the LG, now you can run any direction rather than having to follow the stairs/bouncepads (which now have working shaders and are much nicer looking) up. An easy 9 from me now, just my kind of thing.

Those two large towers are awe-inspiring. Unfortunately the rest of the map was not that impressive. The layout is rather poor, and most of the areas are just too big. A large scale can produce some exciting architecture however you must be able to integrate a good layout with more vertical and tighter knit combat areas for it to be worthwhile. You definitely have some artistic talent Jug, you just need to get a better feel for layouts.

"excuse for the delay, the map will be re-released in few hours from now! i've followed your tips and a fixed version will be ready soon"
Awesome! Tig will probably not need a new review for it, he'll probably just add "(UPDATE: problems fixed, new download link)" or something, but if the map requires a new review i'll be more than happy to do the honours again. Jugulator, keep mapping, i'd love to see more levels by you. :)

The sentence "central (but slightly disused) RL room" was meant to be "central (but slightly disused) RG room" (railgun, not rocketlauncher).

Oooh purdy. And I can get 100 FPS in it with my new comp :-p Well, the teles that go into walls ARE annoying, especially because they are very pretty just like the rest of the map and tempt you to jump on in. I agree that the PG is centrally placed, however if the humans who are playing like the other guns they will get them and the bots will pick them up too. The GL is so far away that no one bothers, though, and LG is a bit tricky.
I like some of the "symmetry" of the map, with a central (but slightly disused) RL room with a fog of death, having a MH on one side hallway and the RA on the other side. It is all very pretty with a neat skybox, and some cool "chrome" windows (a window-hole filled in with a chrome or tinny texture), but of course there are MISSING textures too. Just enough to be annoying.
I think it plays fine, barring the retarded teles. I only had to suicide to get unstuck once :-p Bots were not bad.
6/10, though barring the few problems it's an easy 9/10.

i cant believe to my eyes: i've submitted this map ages ago and now i've a review for my first map :) ...i believed that was too much bad to be reviewed :) (no irony here)
only in the last months i've taken "a bit more seriously" the level editing, while in the previous period, when i've build this map, my main target was to release a map as soon as possible...i say this simply to explain how i released this map conscious of some bugs and without a sufficient betatesting.
actually i'm working to another map but the good words (maybe too much good:] ) spent by Havoc make me ready to resume this map and fix all what need to be fixed! ....Keeper? mmmh i dont believe to reach so high levels with this map...i hope with the next one :)
thanks for the review Havoc
