oxodm1 is based on possibly one of the most well known game maps ever, Dust from Counter-Strike. Technically, this release is based on de_dust2, but as this is Q3A, not Counter-Strike, some people may not know the difference.

The game play is almost totally horizontal and fun in a DM match of around 4 to 6 players and that is about it. The map can be played as a Tourney or in CPMA, but the Power-Ups all over the place destroy it, which is a real shame for such a well known map.

The visuals are a close match to that of Counter-Strike 1.6. Personally, I can understand the desire to keep it close to the original, but this is Q3A, not Counter-Strike. Either a more Q3A aesthetic or something more unique would have been nice to see.

There are a few automatic gates that look identical to a few gates that do not open at all. This is a little annoying and it would have been great to see some visual difference between the two gate types. Also, the gates do not have an areaportal attached so they offer no technical reason for even being there. Another minor issue is the small fog area to the Red Armour. The fog is way out of place for the dryness of the environment.

Bots play the map well with no obvious issues. They help to fill up the numbers if you are on a small LAN too.

With some item tweaks and maybe a new coat of paint this could have been a great conversion. As it stands it is fun and enjoyable only - nothing wrong with that.
