for all its short comings, there did appear to be some effort on the part of Anton to make the Quad and BFG difficult to obtain and control. So there were some points of interest there. Unfortunately, take the game away from those items and there really wasn't much else there. The instant kill slime was just no fun at all!

Very impressive map indeed Anton. I would of thought it would be a piece of crap but in fact is quite beautiful. Gameplay was actually really good and i had no problems with it although I did have a problem with Spawn spots. The spawn spots went horrendous because bots can be easily killed since they spawn in the same area each time. I could just camp at that spawn spot the whole match and win since most bots spawn at that area so that needs improving. Not Bad! 7.5/10

I was hoping to play this in the Super Heroes Arena mod, expecting the slime to be my friend when I would play as the Water Form. However, that didn't happen. And no railgun anywhere in the map, not even as a secret area, could stop that thing other than SHA3's superpower abilities.

The instant-death slime changed my vote from 6.5 to 6.

Nice design and good use of textures. The rail gun should have been added to balance the map because of the BFG (Don't get angry at me Anton because of the rail gun complaint), but it's still a good map.

Better late than never ...

Anyway, the problem with the platform sounds are that they are missing in the pk3 file. There should be two wav-files in soundmoversplats.

the 'wind-by.wav' (may not be the correct wording) error message is an error from id Software. It is related to Team Arena. (if that is the error you are seeing :])

It comes up at the top of the screen when you use the lifts.

"Error, could not find sound.. wibble.. wibble.. blah.."

VisionThing - you told about sound error massage when using lifts. I didn't find any... Where it is?

Octovus - the map is "lava pit"?

Anton...I think I just reviewed one of your maps. It should be in the next update...slime wasn't NEARLY as much of a problem there, imo.

I did say "in that way" meaning; not ommiting certain guns because the bots use them well. As a general rule I would agree that botplay is important but not to the degree when you impair the play with humans by catering to it. Also I think there is a sufficient amount of clans with their own servers and an interest in custom maps for human play to be the most important (less so with ffa maps tho' it's true). Hope that makes more sense now :).

XuXuXu: This is a bug with fileplanet, please try grabbing the map again or reloading the Fileplanet page (usualy works the second time)

"You shouldn't really cater your maps to botplay in that way as it creates problems with human players which is more important than botplay"

Hmm.. I'd have to disagree with that. 99% of the maps on LVL will probably never be played regularly on servers. So the only human play they would be getting is from small LAN parties which is still pretty unlikely. So I would venture to guess that botplay would be more important for this level.

(BTW, have people STILL not learned the the BFG is NOT to be put in maps?)

Ok, maybe.

Btw - here in queue there are 2 more maps by me: towers & utopia

(my 1st & 2nd map)

You can check them if you want.

If you stick it in lvl beta as a pk3 I'll take a look at it for you :).

Sure, human players are much important. Actually, I don't like bots at all. They are so stupid sometimes..
But if BFG on map - a raigun needed... Sometimes not, I think.
You was right - Bfg+quad+invis_heast - and all map is yours :)

Anyway - this just my 4th map.
Maybe the next one will be better. Here is beta:
zelda64rus.dotnet....skytown-map.rar (just unrar and rezip as pk3)

You shouldn't really cater your maps to botplay in that way as it creates problems with human players which is more important than botplay. Also, I can't see the bots being that hard even with xaero and a railgun as they miss the quad and the bfg as well as falling in the slime all the time :p. Still, there's always next map :).

Vision Thing: Thanx for review.

Hm.. about missing rail gun..
I deleted it in last minutes and replaced it with grenade launcher to make a gameplay a bit easy. When bot grabs a railgan in this map... oh, no.. :)

Hmmmmmm, I believe both those points were in my review Tig (albeit less extreme). Still, next lot of maps won't get off so lightly :p.
