Client 5 is not connected

So here is my issue. I run a mod called UI Enhanced 1.2, which brings a whole lot of improvements and other features to the table, and the engine I use is Ioquake3. My game is heavily modded, in the sense that I have over 2000 maps and over 100 player models, and the reason this works is because I am running a mod made by someone named Chomenor. Here is the link to the thread: lvlworld.com/thread/315/0 When I load a map with bots, the console shows an error saying "Client 5 is not connected" and only a fraction of the bots I added in the menu actually spawn in the game (For example, in the menu I set 5 bots to spawn, but only 1 of them do). I am, in fact, running a custom map with custom bots, but I still get the same problem when I try it with a Vanilla map with Vanilla bots. Any ideas?

Can you post a console log?
When the problem occurs, type "/condump temp.txt" in the console (without the quotes), locate the temp.txt file (likely in %appdata%\Quake3\baseq3) and post it here.

Try downloading this file:
stvef.org/files/ui...maplimitup2.pk3

Then place it in this directory, alongside the dll that is already there:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Quake 3 NEW New Filesystem\uie

I placed the file in that folder, which also replaced a file of the same name and same exact size that was already in the folder. It did not fix the issue I was having.

I don't know if this will work. I'm just trying to increase some limits in qagame since I don't know exactly which one is causing the problem.

Sadly, this did not work for me either. I got this error in the past, but only 1 bot didn't spawn, instead of only 1 spawning. I added nothing except 3 maps between now and then.

Try running "/logfile 2" in the console before starting the map. Afterwards locate the qconsole.log file (likely in %appdata%\Quake3\baseq3) and post it here. This should produce the full log, instead of the other method where the log was truncated somewhat and didn't have all the necessary information.

I did some experimenting, and I got some results. It turns out, that this only happens in the CTF and Team Deathmatch gamemodes, and NOT in Free For All or Tournament, all of the bots spawned in those 2 gamemodes. I set the map, frag limit, time limit, and all of the bots to the exact same for each gamemode. I think it may have something to do with team-based gamemodes.

That did not work either, sadly. I will try to look for other things that might be causing it, in the settings and such, because UI Enhanced has more settings than Vanilla Quake 3.

I found no weird or messed up settings with UI Enhanced. I tried running both the 32 and 64 bit versions, with no result. I also tried lowering the soundmegs, zonemegs, and hunkmegs settings, but also nothing.

Is it possible to find a specific bot that always exhibits the problem, and the model pk3 containing it, so I could try to reproduce the problem? I'm not really experienced with how the bot loading process works in quake 3; maybe some bots just don't work in team modes for some reason?

Another thing to try is to make sure sv_pure is set to 0, if there is an option for it in the UI settings. I don't really expect this is the problem though.

For the first question, it always happens, no matter what bot I use. If you want, I could upload my entire Quake 3 folder to mediafire so you can take a look, but it's 12.7 GB, so that will take a long while to upload, and I will need to upload it in 2 parts. For the 2nd question, yes, sv_pure is set to 0.

I did a little bit of testing, and I encountered problems if the bots were set manually but only for one team (i.e. the blue side of the list). This occurred even on stock UI Enhanced on stock Quake 3, so it definitely looks like there is some UI enhanced bug involved here.

If the "bot selection" option was set to random, or if the bots were added evenly to both teams, I seemed to have better results. What is your experience with these options?

I tried what you recommended, and sure enough, I do not get the bug anymore. When I was getting the error at first, I had 5 bots all on 1 team, and none on the other. And, also, when I tried it with 8 bots on blue and 1 bot on red, only blue bots disappeared, so it definitely is an issue with the blue side of the list. It might involve the client player, because the client player is automatically set to join blue.

I did some more testing, with 7 bots on blue and 8 on red, that 2 bots on red, as well as 1 bot on blue, did not spawn, and the client player spawned in spectator mode instead of on a team. Instead of it saying "Client 5 is not connected" it said "Client 15 is not connected" so it could be an issue with both teams.

Hmmm... I also tried adding 15 bots to FFA mode using random selection, and I get the error: "Client 15 is not connected" and only 1 of the bots don't load in. When I tried loading 15 bots by hand-picking, I get NO error, and only 2 of the 15 bots spawn in. The 2 bots that spawn in out of the 15 I set to spawn are random, it changes every time.
