Eighty-eight is a smallish deathmatch map with a simple layout involving two figure-eights stacked atop each other. Dropdowns allow players to move from the top figure-eight (levels 2 and 3) to the bottom one (levels 1 and 2). Jump pads and ramps allow players to move upward.

Intended gameplay styles are tourney, 3 or 4 FFA, and 2-on-2. Bot support is included.

You will find the MG, SG, GL, RL, PG, and RG. There is no BFG or quad as I feel these rob small maps of balance.

There are no custom textures. I wanted to keep the pk3 small. There are two custom shaders producing the watery reflections on the bottom level.

The map is symmetric and this is perhaps the source of the biggest flaw in its gameplay. It's possible to forget which side you're on. You might find a SG where you thought you'd see a RG. I attempted to provide visual clues in the form of texture variation, but it's subtle and not always easy to pay attention to while under fire.

Construction time was about a week, though I'd been toying with the stacked-eights layout for at least a month. Editor was GtkRadiant 1.1-TA-beta. Build time is just over 5 minutes on my aging PII 400.

This is my first real map. Please alert me of any technical errors.
