stairs can be more of a trip hazard on a space map and with the lack of barricades on the platform ledges personal teleports would have helped. This is especially true where there is more than 1 rail gun on a space map (like on a lot of space ctfs). Of course the very end of you has two, but it provides cover and much of that map is just long distance rail shots. But with the other base id spacemap stock, you are usually able to control player access to and from the rg. even so there was still a real level of creativity on display here, and I liked the routes that were provided between bases

Well, the map looks great but it simply cripples my computer (and yet, I have a 1.4 TBird and a GeForce3). I can usually play almost any Quake3 map at the resolution of 1600x1200 and still enjoy a sustained 60+ fps framerate, but not THIS ONE: with six bots in play, framerate drops to an average 35 fps, which is not enough for me. Even lowering the resolution does not help. I guess I just need a better CPU. On the overall, it should be a fine map in 2003.

Oh aye, it was a dream come true! Getting paid for what I used to love doing in my free time? It should be pretty cool. But anyways, I haven't played Alpha Centauri, but there is an island here in Scotland called Skye.. it's tiny though, but it's not too far from the island Iona, my own little special island. :) Way way off topic now.. oppsie!

Btw, its not Thanksgiving over here, we don't get them for the obvious reason. hehe. It's just that time of year over here were nothing much happens.. there's halloween pretty soon now, and then there's.. hmm.. Fireworks Night, and uh.. then Christmas! :)

Thankya,

Yogi

Eeep hard drive crashses suck, of course. But good for you on getting the job! Must be a bit of a dream come true :-) It wasn't really a joke, just there's this game called Alpha Centauri and one of the main characters is Deidre Skye...I guess I'm getting way too specific there, eh? It'd be like me ;-)

Happy Thanksgiving from Canada! Not that it's thanksgiving anywhere else (is it?)

Hey mate! Well at least someone remembers me around these parts! :) I don't think I will be releasing anytime soon, I had three maps around %80 complete, so in other words, all built up and leak free. Only thing was that I lost them all due to a hard drive crash - which I blame on the air turbulance on the way over from the States.. grrr! Next time the hard drive will be in my carry on. Anyhow, theres that, and plus me landing a job in the gaming industry, which I start next week as it happens. Finally! :) So really, no releases in the near future. :|

Oh.. I didn't get the Deidre joke.. ? Sure it was funny.. :)

Thanks,

Yogi

Thanks for the review, Tigger. It ran pretty good on my system, but in saying that, we were aware that it wouldn't run all that great on the slower systems. Thought it to be alot of fun to play, and pretty to look at. :) Anyhow, all comments are welcome, I'm sure my Julie.. eh.. Skye, will like to hear all of your thoughts on it.

Oh yea.. I am alive still.. if anyone remembers me that is? :) Not been around these parts in a while, but I'm still mapping, and all that.

Anyhow, great first released hunny, but, whens the next one due out? Don't keep me waiting... I need my fix! :)

Sounds cool, but just a glance at the screenshot tells me my computer would cringe at the thought of running it :- I'm not complaining...guess it's time to walk off to upgrade-ville with my birthday money :-)
