Truely wonderful map. I've never mapped anything in my life, so all I know is gameplay, and MY GOD does this have gameplay. On promode you can fly around this map so damn fast, it can be fun to be there by yourself just jumping around. Job Lunaran.

This map is a masterpiece - it is the most incredible map I've ever seen for chases (maybe a little more health dotted around wound increase this chase potential further.) It is amazing fo the millions of paths you can use to get to your goal, and it looks the absolute dogs bollocks. I would personally have liked the rocket launcher replaced for a grenade launcher, since the RL dominates in these tight corridoors. That just cause i hate the RL though. This map is the closest to perfect I have yet seen. (Try it 2v2)

I havent been able to d/l ANY maps lately let alone this one. By the sounds of the comments and the fact that it is #1 in the top 10 (more like top 45) over Coriolis Storm when it has only been here for a few days, im definitely going to get it. Oh i cant believe it, Its actually downloading!!

Blue used to be my favourite colour!

Lunaran still prefers it above all else, and if he is left unsupervised and doesn't receive his daily 100 000 volt shock therapy direct to the brain we'll all soon be living in a world not too dissimilar from the one portrayed in Eiffel 65's song. Someone alert Interpol quickly so that the dreadful fate Lunaran and his buddy Dreyfuss has planned for mankind can be averted, hopefully they'll be able to prevent the global catastrophe Lunaran's conniving - to coat the planet in bright blue emulsion. Oh no! Pictures from the Hubble suggest he is already succeeding.

Oops, I've forgotten to take my medication again. No, please don't put my straight jacket back on, as typing with my nose hurts.

Does anyone get the hint that I think that blue was slightly overused in Lunaran's map: good. That said, the other custom textures used were excellent, and I especially liked the bullet marked walls; the rusted iron girders; and the bronze trims. Lunaran definetly succeeded in his attempt to give the map a rugged, robust appearance, and if it wasn't for the excessive use of blue the map would have looked quite impressive. Though I still prefer your previous map 'Coriolis Storm' as it was full of character, whereas this one somehow lacked atmosphere.

The arena has first-rate connectivity, and the three storey layout encourages a good deal of vertical gameplay. The only things I disliked about the layout was that some corridors seemed rather cramped and the room sizes in general are somewhat small; if Lunaran expanded the map's dimensions marginally then I think it would allow for better manoeuvrability.

Overall, quite a good level, but just too tight for my liking.

SCORE: 8

N.B.

By the way, Lunaran is also responsible for the glass pyramid outside the Louvre Museum in Paris; he is intending to replace the faces of the Presidents on Mount Rushmore with images of the Spice Girls instead, and change the head of the Sphinx to resemble Hunter whom he really fancies. Who knows what other dastardly plans he's plotting in that warped single grey cell.

This is the best-playing map I've yet seen for Quake3; an awesome map for a good 1-1, or a FFA of 3-6 players IMO.

The graphics are definitely inspired from Quake2, as I recognise many of the textures deriving from that game; I know there'll be some players out there that will be turned off of this map just because of that, and that's a shame

The Good: Nice textures, curved ramp is a really nice touch. Item placement is very well done.

The Bad: Wayyyyy to tight. You can't strafe in this place. It reminds me of Kodiaks latest map, amazing archetecture but the gameplay suffers because its too cramped. Sorry but gameplay comes first.

Sorry, forgot to mention that to get the bots to do the jump, you'd need a jump pad below the rocket! LOL! Totaly forgot to mention that part..duh! Maybe try a suspended item_botroam just underneath the RL. Bots will jump, but they need to be told ( heavy weight on the bot roam).

Hope it works!

Great Brush work, perfect atmosphere. I agree that the level could use a few more "sounds", but overl all, it was very well done.

To get the bots to use the jump pads, set the brush used for the jump pad 8 units lower than the floor, place an item_botroam directly over the trigger_push and give it a weight of 100-200 ( higher numbers will keep the bot there all the time) and be sure the weapon is in the path of the target_position. That should work for you. If you do not set the jump pad brush lower than the floor, the bots seem to just "stand" around the jump pad. I think they like to "fall" the 8 units...it's odd...but it works. The only draw back to the weight on the item_botroam is that with values higher than 150, they tend to hang around in that area too much. I'll send you an email.

Good work!

This level rocks! i give it a 9, It leaks with quality, but I have 2 issues with it.

1: It's to quiet. If there were some type of mechanical droning or the hissing of oxygen being put into the place, it'd be fine.

2: Concidering this is unavoilable dont be alarmed. It reminds me to much of the song "Blue" (is this the blue house they were looking for, no offense :) )

Keep up the good work Lunran.

For those of you looking for a direct download:

lunaran.fragland.net/lun3dm2.zip

For those of you who took a point off for bots not getting items: I understand it's a problem (doesn't anybody read the text file?), but you have to understand it isn't my fault. There was absolutely nothing within my power as a mapper to make the bots jump for items. I would have if I could, sure as hell, but that's up to Mr. Elusive.

/me kicks id for releasing proper bots only with the teamplay addon

It's tight. It's fast. I love beer and I LOVE to shoot things! I'm so happy I downloaded this map straight from Lunaran's site (forgot the URL) so I didn't have to bitch about Fkplanet. Thanx to The Big House on this one!

Now a short review. It seems as if everything is interconnected and you can cover so much ground by strafe-jumping all over the place, but if you're caught in a corner, you're goo. I also loved the longs jumps to reach the power-ups; if you can't strafe-jump or rocket-jump, now would be a good time to learn! The only gripe I have about the map is the apparent inability of the bots to reach the RL, the MH and the Haste. On the other hand, the LG-loving bots have a ball in this map; Anybody out there who got my DeathKnight bot on Polycount knows what I'm talking about!

Anyways, for a small map, 1on1 freak like me, this map is killer. Lunaran's done it again !!! Here's my 9/10, with the point lost on the bots inability to grab some stuff.

A great map. The layout was keen and well connected. Multiple levels for 3d fighting. Great stuff.

BUT

I feel Lun3dm1 has hell a more attitude then this map. Lun3dm1 felt alive in a sense, with the blown up areas, and the dust cloud and what not. Lun3dm2 has all the strings tied up and well done effects, it just seems so dead and static. Compared to Lun3dm1 of coarse, still kicks the hell outta everything else.

One of the few maps that ive kept for awhile in my baseq3, its fast looks good is just fun. Bots can get the RA by falling on it, and i have seen a bot that i made get the RL. I never got to play Q2 but if this is what it was like i missed out. :) I cant bring myself to give it a 10 though because im still looking for the perfect map.

the map is great, no question. LDBST looks nothing like any bathroom I have seen - if you are referring to the blue lighting then I have to say that imho it looks great and enforces the style and atmosphere given by the textures and architecure. I haven't played it against bots (imho q3 bots are not fun to play against on ANY map) but while I was at uni I beta tested over LAN and it was fantastic.
