First there was subtilis et simplex, the Q3A version. Then there was Fiemus Ravi, the greyscale Q3A version. Now this, the team arena texture version of subtilis et simplex by Anwulf. Being a re-texture, the second of the same map, you may want to see the previous reviews. New textures have given the map a glossy face-lift but other than that nothing much has changed since the original version.

To recap, the map is a railgun only tourney map that looks like a greco-roman art gallery. Nice painting! Alas, there was a distinct lack of sculpture work which may have added to the aesthetic of the map. A rendition of Michelangelo's David would have fit in perfectly. Bots played well. Game play is about the same as the original. Multiple destination teleports, and the Teleport powerup continue to make the map an interesting tourney experience.

Worth the download if you liked the original and want to collect the whole set.

lol - this was first custom map i have played...now i can see why almost all textures were missing :))),,,but in that days i didnt even know the grey texture with grid replaces orig. missing textures AND wht more I liked it as it was,,,, what a strange and nice looking textures, goood idea:) -then i showed it to my friend and he said just pfffffff missing textures i wont play dis! ... hmm i playd it much with MAJOR bot (4 or 5) -hard :), great gameplay, !

:-(, I hadn't encountered that problem and nor did any of my beta testers. Can't do much about it since I'm without Q3 for the next ten months.

As Tig says, the level uses TA textures, so if you try to play it with vq3 a whole bunch will be missing.

Yep, its a Tourney/Railgun map for Team Arena and relies on team Arena textures. Try one of the other maps in the series for vq3 game play.

After winning a round, sometimes shuts down when restarting the level, showing this error message. BG_CanItemBeGrabbed: index out of range

It was meant to be Michelangelo's David and a hyperlink to a website, however I forgot about it when I did the update.

Its now fixed, thanks for the reminder :]
