Ah yes, another architectural masterpiece from Charon. Construction is similar
to Flea Fights as far as textures are
concerned. Nice use of Lunaran textures here and there. The layout allows for
fluid and furious game play.
Item placement is very plentiful, keeping some of the more valuable items
with ... keep reading

Another great Tourney map from Charon, this time the arena is
a futuristic / industrial theme level, a very minimalist look, great use of soft
tones of grey, little touches like the curved pipes/trim on the first landing
health corridor. Softened nicely with soft blue / white lights, loved
it! The contras ... keep reading

A mean, green slice of heaven from Charon. Liquid Carbon excels in so
many areas, it's hard to choose where to start. Built with custom textures
from the author himself (available on his
website), and boasting more eye candy than you can shake a GeForce3
at, LC is sure to impress even the most sting ... keep reading

If I had to hand out a Most Improved Mapper for 2001 award, it would, without hesitation, go to Charon. This talented mapper has found his calling. Inextremis sports a flashy red industrial texture set from Rorshach, and does a pretty good job at recreating a space mining facility. The visuals in this map a ... keep reading

A fast past DM level with nicely balanced DM game play. 3 and 4 player Deathmatch games are furious with some excellent rail action. The level is well suited to 1on1 games but there seems like a little too much health and the location of the 2 Yellow Armours so close to the Rail gun leans the level more towar ... keep reading

An excellent 3 floored level with some great geometry based brush work. The author has achieved a strong sense of style with minimal textures (predominantly one dark and one light texture), good lighting and some very accomplished brush work. The only real problem is the location of the Rail gun right above t ... keep reading

Charon delivers yet another very enjoyable level. This map has a great 'blue' theme running throughout, excellent lighting and solid architecture. The map is a little too tight but does play nice and fast. A 3 player DM is a blast but the weapon and item placement could have been tweaked a little more. Bots ... keep reading

A damn fine Tourney and small FFA level. The game flow is as smooth as the texturing and lighting. Everything is working on this map. 1on1 matches are intense and will keep you on the edge for your seat, very nice. 3 or 4 player FFA games will leave you wanting to remove frag and time limits, as they are fast ... keep reading

Wood, metal, flesh, stone and pentagrams combine to create the atmosphere for Charons 6th Q3A release. Its a very enjoyable 3-5 player DM level with vertical action and fast game flow. The power-ups are teamed entities, meaning that they randomly spawn in one location one at a time. This is a good way to brea ... keep reading

A visually striking map with lots of custom textures (courtesy of Evillair). The layout is well connected for the overall size although some sections are seldom used for smaller games. Items are positioned well. Game play is at its best with 4 to 6 players in a FFA. The Challenge ProMode mod comes highly reco ... keep reading

A well built, spacious level set in a rusty industrial construction yard. The restricted selection of weapons makes for an interesting play off between the Shotgun, Railgun and Rocket Launcher. The map looks great with full texture detail and the custom sky with scrolling lightning finishes it all off nicely. ... keep reading

Tick tock, everywhere is clocks. Whirring cogs, ticking clock dials and industrial textures make for a successful blend. This map has good texturing, lighting, game flow, item placement and bot play. The ambient sounds work well to enhance the theme though they will probably get to some people. A 4 player DM ... keep reading

Bristling with heavy spikes and a brooding sky this is a great RA3 map with consistent styling, good lighting and texturing although there are some slight texturing problems on curves. The layout shows a good understanding of just what RA3 is about. The three Rocket Arena levels are good for 1on1, great for 2 ... keep reading

Possibly the best conversion of Quake2's The Edge (q2dm1, id Software). The author has made lots of small tweaks and changes that don't stray too far from the original, yet still feel right at home in Q3A. Game play is good and the texturing and lighting are spot on. Bots seem to hang out in the main atrium, ... keep reading

A very gothic map with great lighting and style. I found myself never really using one of the large rooms at all however (maybe because i kept falling off into another *DeathPit*). A few questionable texture choices here and there too.
Worth a good look for sure, (my girlfriend dosen't think so, but she is ... keep reading
